Words from one of the most talented entertainers I have ever had the chance to talk with! As I thought and thought and thought about what I could possibly ask Miss Angelique Ali, I realized what people wanted to know. How old she is ? The answer is 31. What National titles has she won? She won Miss Florida Fi, and Miss National Entertainer of the Year! She was born in Trinidad, but now resides in Daytona, Florida. But under the makeup, titles, beauty, and voice; Who is Angelique Ali?

Im Trinity Taylor, Host of my online "Up close and personal"! Here I will let you know the behind the scenes on your favorite Drag Idols and know the real story with the life and times of each person I interview!
You know her as the newest addition to the EOY family, But what you don't know is how she got to this point in her life! As I sat on my sofa at home and dished out questions to her I noticed every answer was very sincere and heart felt! In light of what happend with her and Miss Florida Fi, Angelique forced herself to stay strong. From winning a pageant she thought would take her in and help guide her to better herself and the system, She realized who her real friends were and who just wanted her to fail! Was it jelousy or just decete! As she realized that this was not the fairytale she thought Miss Florida would be, she looked elsewhere to find a way out. She knew if she were to win another National title, she would not be able to keep the title as Miss Florida. So in an honest effort to get out of her obligations w/ MF she took on the challenge to become the next Miss National Entertainer of the year! Winning the prelim of Miss Gulf Coast Regional, She was on her way to reaching her goal! I myself had the privilege of competing with Miss Ali for NEOY. I have to say she was so sweet and nice. Anything I needed she had and as the nights went on she became kind of a friend within the pageant! Knowing that there were many Nationally known girls in this pageant she stayed calm and cool through out the prelims and through final night! As second and first runner up were called she thought that the winner was someone else, but as they called her name she became overwhelmed! Now as Miss National EOY she has gained so much respect for others and for herself as well as people for her! Her goal she fulfilled on her first try at Nationals! Not many girls can say they have done that! As I asked her the best thing that came out of NEOY , she replied back saying: She had something to prove and that she had regained her dignity and pride that she had lost after MF! The worst thing, she said was, finding out who her real friends were and were not! But in all of the drama and in everything that has went on in her life she has found herself and has found out what is important... Family! Her cousin and parents are her biggest support. However her father was unable to make it to see her at Nationals because of a sickness in the family. She also will not beable to go home for Thanksgiving because of work and her dedication. When asked what is the most important thing in life, she said simply love, and no she does not have a b/f as of now. But by experience in the past she has found that it is hard to keep a strong relationship going when she has to focus on her career! Speeking of that, she hopes that everything with her album will be coming out mainstream in the summer of 2006. After EOY she intends on taking a break from the pageant world and focusing on singing. One day she will be a huge star, but first comes family! She hopes to go back to school soon but has no plans to start until she sees where her voice will take her. When asked what is her life long goal, she replied by saying: to bridge the gap between gays and straights, to be a gay Icon and to make something of herself, and to motivate gay youth to better themseves and to never give up. As the world around her now is complete, for right now she still has so much more to accomplish. From her music to entertaining, from friends and family to young people around the world, she wants to be a positive role model! As you have read this, some things you know and some now you know, please remember this. In spite of things you have heard, good or bad, she is who she is. A real person like you who makes mistakes and who truly wants to be loved. She is truly an amazing person and such an inspiration to all. I hope the best for you Angelique.. For your dreams and your family! One thing that stuck that she said right before the end of the interview , and that is so real is..I have competed in pageants, now it's my turn to compete in life for my dreams and for the dreams of my family!
